Growth and Development of Northern Nigeria Ltd./GTE (GDNN)

Key Objectives:

Investment Promotion and Facilitation in Northern Nigeria;

Public Policy Advocacy.

Any other activity that will promote the well-being of Northern Nigeria.


Detailed as follows.

Investment Promotion and Facilitation in Northern Nigeria.

a. Conceive, Incubate, Promote & Facilitate Private Investments in Northern Nigeria.

b. Focus our investments activities in the following areas: agriculture, mining, private education, healthcare, banking, insurance and infrastructure.

Public Policy Advocacy.

a. Restore the traditional values of peaceful co-existence between different religions and tribes in the North.

b. Identify and pursue issues that promote unity, political and socio-economic interest of the people in the Northern States.

c. Engage with stakeholders, relevant institutions of government at all levels and to promote and encourage good governance in states in the North.

d. Identify the challenges in the education sector and offer solutions.

e. Work with agencies and organizations that are engaged in assisting the vulnerable groups;

f. Promote the core values of honesty, integrity, hard work, trust, fairness and respect in conduct and to serve as foundation for good leadership.

g. Imbibe the values of (f) above with a view to producing patriotic Nigerians from the North with character and conduct of an exemplary leader.

Corporate Social Responsibility.

a. Collaborate with Multilateral Donor Agencies to support the Northern Region of Nigeria implement some of the following, or;

b. Approach similar Funds Globally with a view to taking advantage of access to their Development Assistance or their Support Programs extended to the Northern Region of Nigeria in;

c. Providing scholarships to the highly talented from the Northern parts of Nigeria either locally or overseas in such special areas of the needs of the Northern parts of Nigeria, and selected through a transparent and competitive criterion at each State’s level;

d. Build well manned and managed dispensaries with access to either free or very cheap drugs affordable by all, at all Wards of the Northern parts of Nigeria, supporting Health For All Program of the Government of Nigeria;

e. Revive and Sustain Agriculture Sector Extension Services support to all the Wards of the Northern parts of Nigeria;

f. Revive Sports and sustain its promotion and development all over the Northern Region of Nigeria, from Inter Primary School levels to Inter Secondary Schools up to tertiary institutions level;

g. Support elaborate and qualitative Education in special areas with particular reference to Information Technology at Primary School levels all over the Northern parts of Nigeria;

h. Be visibly involved in Humanitarian undertakings supporting serious Medical and Educational and Educational or Environmental issues in all parts of Northern Nigeria;

i. Revive training of extension and Public Health Officers and Sanitary inspectors;

j. Revive training of forestry and environmental officers and protection of the environment;

k. Embark on serious sensitization on values of Public Health and Environmental Sanitation and the need for both Governments, Civil Society and individuals to take this very vital issue seriously;

l. Develop basic Soft and Hard Rural Infrastructure to support access to knowledge, free movements, clean water, education, healthcare and Medicare, disease eradication and control;

m. Respond to other key areas of needs to the Northern parts of Nigeria as the needs arise.

Any other activity that will promote the well-being of Northern Nigeria.

a. Collaborating with other similar organizations

b. Develop a Northern economic Vision

c. Hold annual Northern Economic Summit.

Structure of GDNN

  1. Have a General Assembly to meet every year, to be presented with records and activities of that year.
  2. Have an Advisory Board, which will consist of 9 members, 3 per geo-political zone, to also reflect religious diversity and gender. Their functions will include advocacy and leadership roles.
  3. Have an Executive Council of 15 members. The Executive Council will consist of:
    • Chairman
    • Deputy Chairman
    • Chief Executive Officer
    • 3 Sector CEOs {Advocacy, CSR – Northern Nigeria Development Fund, NNDF,, Invest In Northern Nigeria Limited (IINNL) as the Investment arm}
    • 9 Non-Executive Council members. These members will be distributed across the 3 Northern geopolitical zones. They will emerge based on merit and by election.
